For our full-time and part-time courses there is no set reading list.
For those sitting the shorthand module, the only compulsory workbook is Teeline Gold Standard for Journalists by Marie Cartwright.
We do highly recommend McNae’s Essential Law for Journalists by Sian Harrison and Mark Hanna for all trainees on all courses.

We recommend sports journalism trainees get a copy of Sports Journalism: The Inside Track by, our very own, James Toney.
We do not expect you to do any reading in advance of the course and actively discourage you from starting any shorthand!
