News Associates is accredited to deliver the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) Diploma in Journalism in London, Manchester and remotely on full and part-time courses.
Course fees at News Associates cover all tuition, enrolment with the National Council for the Training of Journalists, entry to one national examination in essential journalism, essential journalism ethics and regulation, public affairs for journalists, essential media and regulation, introduction to PR for journalists, media law court reporting, journalism for a digital audience, data journalism, PR and communications for journalists, broadcast regulation, videojournalism for digital platforms, radio journalism, sports journalism and journalism e-portfolio (depending which modules are taught on the course you are enrolled on), and all attempts at Teeline shorthand* (if shorthand is taught on the course you are enrolled on and you opt to sit it).
Once a place has been offered on a respective course trainees pay a non-refundable £1,500 deposit (£1,000 for our remote part-time course) to confirm their intention to study at News Associates. The balance is payable the day you commence your studies with us.
We also offer trainees the chance to pay for their studies by instalments. And an early-payment discount ** on all our courses.

NCTJ Diploma in Multimedia Journalism (Full-time/fast-track/22 weeks) – £5,500 (£5,250 with early-payment discount)
NCTJ Diploma in Multimedia Journalism (Part-time/40 weeks) – £5,500 (£5,250 with early-payment discount)
NCTJ Diploma in Multimedia Journalism (Part-time/18 months/remote) – £4,750 (£4,500 with early-payment discount)
NCTJ Diploma in Multimedia Sports Journalism (Full-time/35 weeks) – £5,950 (£5,700 with early-payment discount)
Please note our further education courses are not eligible for student finance or the Advanced Learner Loan.
Journalism Diversity Fund
The Journalism Diversity Fund is available to students from ethnically and socially diverse backgrounds, who are without the means to support themselves through an NCTJ training course. For more information and an application form visit – www.journalismdiversityfund.com
Other concessions
There are other concessions available to some trainees, including Transport for London’s (TFL) Student Oyster Card, which we can issue once a full-time course has started.
International trainees
International trainees are welcome at News Associates and we don’t levy any premium on their course fees.
International trainees can apply for all our training schemes but please note we are not on the Sponsor Register of Employers and are not currently in a position to sponsor Tier 2 visas for international graduates. Therefore our courses are not eligible for student visas and we cannot assist with any visa applications.
