News Associates presents JournoFest 2023: Full lineup revealed
News Associates’ annual journalism conference JournoFest is back for its seventh year!
JournoFest brings together News Associates and The School of Journalism trainees for a day-long festival of all-star guest speakers from the media industry.
JournoFest 2023 will open with our keynote speaker Times Newspapers chairman John Witherow.
John was editor of The Times between 2013 and 2022, before being appointed chairman of Times Newspapers Ltd. He joined News UK in 1980 and was appointed editor of The Sunday Times in 1994.
Up next we have two star-studded panels covering ‘what makes great journalism’ and discussing ‘the next big thing in journalism’.
Panel: What makes great journalism?
Our panel of experts will share their knowledge on what makes a good story/column/TV show.
Kamal Ahmed – News Movement editor-in-chief and co-founder and Society of Editors president
Jane Moore – ITV Loose Women panellist and columnist for The Sun
Samantha Washington – Sky News presenter
David Woode – The Times crime correspondent
Panel: What’s the next big thing in journalism?
Our speakers will discuss what they think could be the next big journalism developments or trends.
Andrew Colley – Newsquest Oxfordshire regional editor
Madhumita Murgia – Financial Times artificial intelligence editor
Will Payne – The Sun director of digital and head of The US Sun
Our panels will be chaired by News Associates deputy managing editor Graham Dudman and will include time for questions from the audience.
The day will also include plenty of time for networking between trainees, speakers and our special guests.
JournoFest 2023 will take place in our Twickenham newsroom – and be livestreamed – on Saturday March 25 and is exclusively for News Associates and The School of Journalism trainees.
