Record number of News Associates graduates achieve senior reporter status
Seventeen News Associates alumni are celebrating new senior status after being awarded their National Qualification in Journalism.
Split across News Associates’ London and Manchester centres, the group made up a massive 26% of the 65 who passed the NQJ nationally.
Candidates have to pass three exams, in news interviewing, news reporting and media law and practice while also providing a logbook of work produced over 18 months or more.
News Associates course director Richard Parsons praised the dedication and talent of the News Associates ’17’.
He said: “A huge congratulations to all the 17 News Associates graduates who have taken their qualifications to the next level. It is great to see hard work rewarded.
“There is an amazing amount of ability in the group and I am looking forward to following all of their careers with interest.
“I hope each and every one of them will look back on their time at News Associates fondly and see it as the first step on their long and successful careers in journalism.”
