News Associates graduate scores dream role covering England’s World Cup campaign
Just months after leaving us, one News Associates graduate has found himself working on the story of a lifetime.
Alex Marrow achieved his NCTJ gold standard Diploma in Multimedia Journalism in January 2018.
After spending four months working with press agency Sportsbeat, Alex joined Sky Sports News, travelling to Russia to work on their World Cup coverage.
“Throughout my time studying for my NCTJ at News Associates, I learned how to cover everything from local news stories to massive global events,” he said.
From Russia with love. Just your ordinary light-hearted shoot with a babushka. Worth viewing until the end… 😉 #Yekaterina https://t.co/HKcWq1efQ5

“I went into the course with experience in the industry, but left with invaluable new skills, shorthand in particular, but also a keener eye for a story, tighter reporting skills, broadcast and video journalism, and am a far better journalist as a result.
“It is the perfect environment in which to learn your trade and gives you a springboard to take you where you want to go. What you put in, you will get out of it.”
