News Associates launches 2025 editorial leadership course
Applications are open for our free student media editorial leadership course running for four weeks this November.
Our sixth student media editorial leadership course will run every Monday evening, 6:30pm-8pm, in November, remotely on Zoom.
The remote course will teach student journalists many essential newsroom skills in order to prepare them for a career in journalism.
We’re working with top industry experts to deliver the four-week course covering everything from story sourcing and pitching to networking and interview skills.
Sessions will be applicable to students from any student media group whether that be TV, radio or a print publication.
In the past, participants have heard from journalists from all across the industry. Previous speakers include Mhari Aurora (Sky News), Will Gore (The Independent, formerly NCTJ) and Abbie Scott (Financial Times).
You can apply through this form.
The course is only open to students in their final year at university and have a role at a university publication. Before you apply, please make sure this applies to you and that you are free every Monday evening of November.
You have until midnight on Sunday, October 12, 2025 to apply. Places are limited so we will only be able to accept a maximum of two people per publication.
We will get back to you by Friday, October 17, 2025.
