SHORTLISTS have been published for the National Council for the Training of Journalists Awards for Excellence in Journalism - and once again News Associates has more nominations than anyone else.
Craig Jones is nominated in the news journalism category while Shakila Barabhuiya, now Reading Chronicle, and Joe Ridge are looking to win the sports journalism prize, which has been claimed for the last two years by a News Associates trainee.
Emma Harrison, now Bracknell News, and Jessica Baldwin are nominated in the feature of the year category.
In 2010, News Associates was the only journalism school to win two awards, including Rachel Bull's journalist of the year prize.
Joanne Carter (now ESPN), Lindsay Watling (now Press and Journal) and Hannah Scott (now Sunday Times) have all won the NCTJ's top shorthand prize in the past three years.
And former winners of NCTJ Awards for Excellence in Journalism include Emily Koch (Bristol Evening Post), George Scott (Eurosport) and David Jordan (Sportsbeat).
